AI in a world of overconsupmtion

AI poses risks for creativity in critical thinking because of the newfound overdependence on artificial intelligence for a surplus of things in today’s world. Things that could take weeks to come up with now can take 30 seconds to generate, and while that sounds good for optimal time use, the risk is that people lose their creativity and critical thinking. When you can ask Chat to draw a beautiful painting without displaying any more effort than simply asking it, it’s easier than taking a week or a month to draw it yourself. The same goes for writing or interpreting. When someone has to sit down for hours to write something, they have to use their critical thinking skills, but if they can just ask a AI assistant, it makes it easier. AI definitely can make life easier, but in the process, it is not allowing humans to fully use their brains. I think it also has to do with the emphasis on overconsumption in today’s world. People are valuing quantity over quality, so to speak.
