Ugly Fruits, do they have a purpose?

I think that Grocery stores should be encouraged but not required to sell "ugly fruits and vegtables. Selling this produce would help manage food waste and would give shoppers cheaper and perfectly healthy options. On the other hand there are many things you must consider too legally and logistically while also thinking about things like supplier quality, shelf space, and even just financial losses.

I have worked in the produce department of a grocery store for multiple years, and this is a problem we have to deal with every day. At my job they handle "ugly" produce through a process of reducing where we package and wrap the produce and sell them for $1.99 each. They also make sure that we are educated on all the produce as well and if there is any problems or concerns, we are prepared to answer them. I think that this process all around helps both the planet and the economy as well.
